Jennifer Lawrence: Actress Suffers Face Injury from Shattering Glass on Set of New Movie

Jennifer Lawrence suffered a cut eyelid that bled “profusely” on the set of Don’t Look Up. The film is a political satire disaster comedy written and directed by Adam McKay, who produced the film with Scott Stuber.  The film is produced for Netflix and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothy Chalamet, and Lawrence.

According to the report, the injury occurred around 1 a.m. and it wasn’t anything too serious, but production was halted for the day after a rigged window explosion during a restaurant scene went wrong and showered Lawrence in broken glass. Lawrence reportedly required medical attention for a cut above her eye.  Production was set to resume on Monday, allowing her time to recover.

Two of Hollywood’s biggest stars, DiCaprio and Lawrence, portray low-level people who just study stars—as in, actual astronomers. Though they’re not particularly notable in their profession, they are the first to realize that an asteroid is on its way to destroy the earth. So they decide to go on a media tour to warn the world of impending danger. Rob Morgan plays another scientist who seems to join them in their quest.

The cast is massive for this film. The cast includes Cate Blanchett, Meryl Streep, Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Matthew Perry, Jonah Hill, Madea‘s own Tyler Perry, indie queen Melanie Lynskey, and Hellboy himself Ron Perlman are all attached.

That’s possibly the biggest cast ever assembled for a Netflix film.

TMZ was the first to report the injury.
