Comedian Louie Anderson Battling Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Cancer

Louie Anderson, stand-up comedian, actor, author, television host, and Primetime Emmy winner has revealed he is suffering from Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

The 68 year-old’s publicist confirmed that he was resting comfortably in a Las Vegas hospital, according to The Hollywood Reporter. For decades, Andreson has been a familiar face on our screens, whether providing backup to Eddie Murphy in Coming to America or headlining live-action and animated star vehicles The Louie Show and Life with Louie.

Baskets, where he played the mother of Zach Galifianakis’ twin brothers Chip and Dale, won him a legion of new followers after receiving three consecutive Emmy nods for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

He also hosted the Family Feud revival in 1999 and 2002, before becoming a regular on the late-night talk show and comedy special circuit. Anderson’s most recent screen appearances were in Amazon’s hit sequel Coming 2 America, as well as two episodes of Lena Waithe’s Twenties for Paramount Plus.

We are sending our best wishes to Anderson and his family as he continues treatment.
