“Baby Shark” has undoubtedly been seen or heard by anybody who surfed the internet since 2017. The children’s sing-a-long song has taken the world by storm and become one of today’s most well-known and popular kids’ media.
On Monday, the video broke yet another record when it passed 10 billion views. The landmark was hit on Thursday, and its view count has continuously increased since then.
The song earned the title of “Most Watched Video on YouTube” when it was released in 2018. It already held one record, but now it has stretched its lead to something that others will have a hard time surpassing.
In November 2020, the song surpassed Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito” to take the top spot on YouTube’s rankings. At the time of writing, Despacito is behind by a few billion, with 7.7 billion followers.
After the track’s popularity, Baby Shark has launched a franchise that includes a slew of merchandise as well as its own Nickelodeon animated program, Baby Shark’s Big Show! The series previously aired an entire season and is anticipated to do so again in the near future.
